Corton Church Roof Replacement

Corton Roof Work Well Underway

The much-needed roof and decorating work at Corton Methodist church continues at an impressive pace, and we are delighted to report that the roof project is progressing well. At the time of writing, (early October) most of the new slates have now been installed. The remaining work includes the fitting of the ridge tiles and completion of the lead work, plus some damp-proof work and new guttering, after which the exterior restoration will be nearing its conclusion.

Inside the church, changes are equally dramatic. The main worship area has been stripped of the old peeling ceiling wallpaper, and is currently being repainted in fresh new colours, and the difference is quite remarkable. Once completed, the church interior will have a much brighter and more welcoming appearance, while still retaining the character and atmosphere of our lovely little church.
