Corton Methodist Church
Corton
Corton Methodist Church is a friendly village church in the heart of Corton, a coastal community just north of Lowestoft. Set within attractive grounds, this much loved landmark has served the village for over 150 years. Built by the Colman family, the church is proud of its heritage, including four beautiful stained glass windows, and it continues to play an active role in village life.
A small but committed congregation maintains weekly worship throughout the year, welcoming both residents and visitors. Community life is central to the church's mission, with a popular Coffee Morning held on the fourth Thursday of each month and a thriving toddler group during term time. The adjoining Old Schoolroom is regularly used by local groups and community organisations, providing a valuable meeting place for the village.
In 2026, the church adopted a new mission statement focused on pastoral care, environmental stewardship, enhancing its grounds, and strengthening partnerships within the local community. With good transport links, ample parking, and a warm welcome for all, Corton Methodist Church continues to be a vibrant Christian presence serving both residents of Corton and holidaymakers.
