Getting married
Your wedding in a Methodist church
A Methodist wedding is a service of promise, commitment and celebration, and we would be delighted to host yours. Our churches are licensed for marriage and we are glad to talk with any couple, whether or not you are churchgoers.
Who can marry here
You can normally marry in one of our churches if you live in the area, if you worship there, or if you have a qualifying connection with it. If you are not sure, please ask. There is very often a way.
What happens next
- Contact us as early as you can, particularly for a summer Saturday
- Our superintendent minister will meet you to talk about the service and to see to the legal preliminaries
- You will choose hymns, readings and music together
- Fees are set nationally, and we will explain them clearly at the outset
On the day
Our churches are warm, human places rather than grand ones, and for many couples that is exactly the point. You are welcome to decorate, to bring your own musicians and to take photographs.
To start the conversation, please get in touch.
Can we help?
Whether you are looking for a church, arranging a baptism, a wedding or a funeral, or simply want to talk to someone, we would be glad to hear from you.
